it has been a week and a half and because my ‘featured artist of the week’ post is a bit late, i thought i would make it up to you with a double feature! so exciiiiting!!! actually i just think this cannes 2011 award-winning ad by baldwin& is really enhanced by both the illustration and the music, so i’d mention both artists. with so many “natural” and pseudo-organic “green” products being released, its nice to be reminded that burt’s bees products have always been natural. all natural. down to their advertisements. david swain’s sketchbook-friendly animation and catherine edgerton’s (from burt’s bees’ own durham, nc) earthy, friendly vocals only enhance the concept and make for a lovely animation that brings a smile to my burt’s bees tinted lips.
