while i have been a fan of the work of hoefler & frere-jones for a while now (it should be no secret that gotham is hands-down among my top 3 favorite fonts), it wasn’t until recently that i came across this incredible typeface, archer hairline. upon taking a quick quiz to see what type i am on pentagram’s website (possibly one of the most famous design agencies in the world), i was introduced to this elegant slab-serif. noble and clean, the lines of archer are modern and understated, as the quiz suggested, but with “tiny dots of emotion”. this slab-serif’s serious but sweet attitude makes it the perfect balance of classic and modern. if only people could exist so harmoniously and if only they had student discounts on fonts…sigh.
