SUPER MAMIKA. 20.11.10
came across these amazing photographs by french photographer sacha goldberger today via mymodernmet.com. initially used as a tool to get goldberger’s grandmother out of depression and loneliness, the photos managed to capture the woman’s strength and persistance of life. born in budapest 20 years before wwii, frederika was one of the courageous citizens who risked their own lives to hide jewish families from the nazis. facing death in hungary under the communist regime, frederika immigrated to france and through her survival of both communist and nazi threat these photographs are able to so beautifully and humorously capture her amazing strength. both an inspirational story and an amazing set of photos it is no surprise that this series has become an overnight viral success. if anyone will be in paris, it sounds like the show at wantedparis is incredible and will be open until november 30th.
